It’s A Pink Taxi!
Call me to girly, but I do love the color pink. But when it comes to taxi is pink better than blue or yellow?
The answer is YES! [at least in Mexico - Puebla]
For those of you who thinks it’s much to Barbie-ish or even to Pink Panter-ish of a Taxi, I really think it’s not. Anyway, pink is just another (adorable) color! And it stands out among seas of cars.

There are a series of Pink Taxi, you can compared it to the notorious Blue Bird in Jakarta, that is now operated in Mexico. But this range of taxis offers more “value added” compare to the regular taxis. It has been said that each pink taxi is equipped with a beauty kit [my dream car!], a GPS system [reading a map is not that diff, even for us woman] and an alarm button [wonder what's the last value added good for]. Another unique selling point of this taxi is that;
“It doesn’t stop for man!”
“Each taxi was drive by a woman”
I personally think it was a good and empowering for female everywhere to have an equal job opportunity as male does. I have respect on a woman who are willing to work in a male stereotype work environment. In my personal opinion, woman who’s working on a male work environment sometimes has to do a double effort job. Just to survive in her place, and I really think that they inspire other woman in terms of: yes, woman can do any job that they are willing to do. Each time I saw a female Trans Jakarta driver I smile and admire her, each time I saw a female taxi driver here in Jakarta, I also have a sudden admiration to the woman.
Back to the pink taxi. Wish we can have one of those taxi in Jakarta. But perhaps not with a beauty kit [which contain make up], I’m OK with perfume or lotion but it would be weird sharing a lipstick or blush on with strangers
